Every month, 2–3 new Tap2Earn games, often referred to as “tap games,” hit the market. These games offer players the chance to earn tokens or cryptocurrency through gameplay. Unfortunately, most of these games lack originality in terms of gameplay, features, or characters — they simply copy the leaders in the GameFi segment, hoping to “grab a piece of the pie” by attracting some users.
However, the market leaders and original projects in the Tap2Earn segment are not afraid of competition and continue to gain popularity. Below is an overview of the best tap games you should keep an eye on and join in September 2024 if you haven’t already.
Hamster Combat
A popular game where users control a hamster to earn $HMSTR tokens. In addition to the standard tapping on the hamster on the main screen, the gameplay includes daily tasks, missions of varying difficulty, character upgrades, and a few quest games where the longer you play, the more you earn. The $HMSTR token has yet to be officially listed or paired for trading on centralized exchanges (CEX) but plans to do so on Binance, OKX, ByBit, etc, as soon as possible. Currently, $HMSTR is already trading in a pre-market OTC format on Gate.io, KuCoin, and BitGet.
Dogs
This is not a classic tap2earn game but a Telegram app based on a memecoin that rewards users with DOGS tokens. To start, you need to log in to the app and connect your wallet. No tapping is required. The longer you stay in the app, the more you earn. DOGS tokens are listed on several CEX exchanges, including Binance, OKX, ByBit, KuCoin, Gate.io and Bitget.
X Empire (formerly Musk Empire)
This Tap2Earn game features the likeness of Elon Musk with various skins and invites players to build their own “empire,” upgrading their character from the first “student” level to the 30th “space emperor” level. The game has a plethora of skins and cards that need to be upgraded. Cards are divided into three categories: personal, office, and team. The more upgraded cards a player has, the higher their hourly earnings and overall progress. The game also offers daily tasks and battles where you can both earn and lose money. The $XEMP token is not yet officially listed on CEX exchanges, but the developers have announced plans to appear on Binance, ByBit, and Bitget by late September or early October 2024.
This game brings a new narrative to the world of clickers. It’s a financial trading game with meme characters and simple earning mechanics. Each tap brings the player closer to real investments in special trading cards that reflect the market dynamics of top cryptocurrencies (BTC, ETH, etc). Monsta offers engaging gameplay, unique mechanics, and an economy that closely mirrors reality. The characters are crypto-native monsters with names familiar to every trader: Hodl, Moon, Long, Short, Fomo, etc. The game includes boosters (capital accelerators), gems (advanced boosters), daily and weekly quests, as well as group tournaments. The in-game token will soon be listed on all major CEX exchanges. Keep an eye on the announcements, as the beta version of the game has already been released.
Notcoin
This was the first Tap2Earn game on the market. It features simple gameplay and an interface. With no competition or similar games at the time, the developers opted for a primitive clicker without characters, missions, or complex mechanics. However, the project received support from Pavel Durov, which proved better than any advertisement. The game offers tasks, team creation, leaderboard participation, and a referral program. The NOT token is already officially listed on several CEX exchanges, including Binance, OKX, ByBit, Gate.io, KuCoin, Bitfinex, Bitget, BingX, etc. The current price is around $0.008, down from its peak of $0.025.
Memefi
This game immerses users in a meme-fantasy world. The main objective is to deal as much damage as possible to the “bosses” by tapping on the character. After defeating a boss (reducing their health to zero), the player moves to a new level and battles an even stronger fantasy meme opponent. To progress faster, players need to constantly upgrade their stats: attack strength, energy level, and energy recovery speed, as well as use “boosters” (accelerators). The MEMEFI token is not yet listed on centralized exchanges but can already be purchased or traded on the decentralized exchange (DEX) Raydium, which specializes in tokenized assets on the Solana network.
Blum
This gaming project serves as a light introduction for beginners to the world of cryptocurrencies, particularly for those looking to transition to trading on the hybrid crypto exchange of the same name, Blum, which has built bridges with over 30 blockchains and offers assets from both CEX and DEX trading platforms. The game allows users to farm Blum Points (BP) tokens, which begin to mine automatically after activating this option in the game. Alongside this, users can play an arcade-style clicker game where they collect stars to increase their wallet balance and crystals (which freeze gameplay, making it easier to collect stars) while avoiding bombs that reduce the balance. The game also features daily bonuses, tasks, and quests. Players are rewarded with both tokens and tickets for their activity. The BP token has not yet been listed on exchanges.
